   Super boring match and a convincing win for the ~20 cm taller favorite who overwhelmed his opponent with sheer power. The 1st game was the longest – Enqvist [8] broke after 7 deuces (10 minutes). [50] Clement’s only Masters 1K semifinal; he had defeated in straight sets two much higher ranked players (Ferrero & Kafelnikov) and I guess he believed more in his abilities on hardcourts (outdoors) which helped him to sensationally reach the Australian Open final a few months later.
