    Points won by each set: | 37-46, 26-21, 33-24, 31-26 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    28 % Alcaraz – 32 of 113
    23 % Medvedev – 31 of 131

The third major semifinal between them: one year ago Alcaraz [3] destroyed Medvedev [5] at Wimbledon 6-3, 6-3, 6-3, the Russian avenged it in their next meeting at the US Open in four sets (7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3), and again he took the opener in a tie-break (7/1) #, but he was ahead all the time in that set after saving a break point in the inaugural game; Alcaraz came back from a break deficit twice, then he was *4:5 (0/30) and 5:6 (15/30). The Spaniard established his superiority from the beginning of the 2nd set with his mixed game-style (dropshots, S/V actions, sudden forehand accelerations), nevertheless Medvedev was trying to give Alcaraz a different look too, being quite aggressive, approaching the net frequently during rallies. In the 4th set Medvedev quickly made a ribreak, he led 3:2 on serve, but Alcaraz jumped to a 5:3* (30/0) lead. Serving at 5:4, the young Spaniard delivered a service winner at 30-all and forced an error of his seven years older opponent on the next point.

    Serve & volley: Alcaraz 10/17, Medvedev 4/7
