   Stats without the first set (72%), but numbers of aces, double faults, FH winners & break points are correct for the entire match.

   In the 14th edition of the tournament in the Wiener Stadthalle, for the first time an Austrian player became the champion. He was guaranteed after the semifinals because they were won by two Austrians: 21-year-old Muster [13] & one year younger Skoff [65]. The favorite Muster led 2:0* in the 2nd set, but at 2:1 an amazing game occurred, which Skoff grabbed on his 11th break point! That game cost Muster a lot of energy, and aggravation of his stomach problems – he lost 8 out of 9 games in total. Muster also led 2:1* in the 4th set when the underdog notched a 5-game winning streak to collect his biggest title. Skoff sprained a bit his left ankle in the 9th game of the 3rd set and needed a 3-minute medical time-out. It was the third all-Austrian final in the Open Era following two final split meetings between Peter Feigl & Hans Kary in 1979 (Linz, Lagos)… Muster vs Skoff H2H
