  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 46-41, 36-30, 35-22 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    22 % Edberg – 23 of 102
    16 % Chang – 18 of 108

Night session match, and just like twelve months later between them on the same court, the same scores of the first two sets (7-6 and 7-5) with very similar duration (70-55 vs 75-60), but there was one significant difference: Chang won one of those sets in 1992, and the trajectory of the rest of the match was completely different. The American [22] had his chances in both opening sets of their ’91 confrontation: in the 1st set he led 6:5* (deuce) before losing the tie-break 2/7, in the 2nd set he led 3:1 as a receiver. Obviously losing two tight sets didn’t help him to keep the same intensity in the 3rd set, but he was pumped up as he created a break point with Edberg [2] leading 5:3 in the 3rd set. The Swede responded with an overhead from a difficult position, and finished the match with two unreturned serves.
