  1. Voo de Mar says:
28 of 39 games included to the stats (71%)… missing between 2-all in 2nd and 5:2 in 3rd (number of aces, DFs & BPs valid for the entire contest)

    Points won by each set: | 43-40, x, x, 28-16 |

Given their ability to play from the back of the court, Noah [9] shouldn’t have had chances against Lendl [3] on clay. But the Frenchman was capable of levelling the difference with his serve, his athleticism (first great mover with height 190 cm), and the support of the partisan crowd. Noah defeated Lendl at Roland Garros in the Davis Cup ’82 (…6-2, 3-6, 7-9, 6-3, 6-4 after 3 hours 58 minutes) and repeated it one year later on the same court in the French Open quarterfinal. He almost stunned the Czechoslovak in straights, he led 5:2* in the 3rd set when Lendl withstood two match points with serve-and-volley actions. In the 4th “bagel” set, the point difference was the thinnest among possible (12) as Lendl lost three ‘deuce’ games and the 2-hour 43-minute match on fourth match point, playing serve-and-volley again on the last two MPs.
