Philippoussis still unbeaten
34-year-old Mark Philippoussis won his third straight ATP Champions Tour event, overcoming his peer Carlos Moya, for whom it was a debut in the series (the Spaniard
retired from professional tennis last year), after a tight final battle in Bogota. “The vibe and the atmosphere on the court during the final is something I haven’t had since I was on the main Tour,” said Philippoussis, “It was almost like a Davis Cup atmosphere and I was very happy and fortunate to be a part of that today. Winning three events in a row makes me very proud and very happy. Each of the three events has been really tough, especially this one in Bogota with Carlos making his debut. I’m very proud to be part of this Tour.” The Australian has won his last 11 matches at the Champions Tour.
