  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 33-26, 31-21 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    36 % Rune – 17 of 47
    23 % Auger – 15 of 64

The two hottest players at the end of the ’22 season; six days before they played the Basel final and Auger-Aliassime [8] won it 6-3, 7-5 not being broken. He was playing four weeks in a row and the tiredness finally caught him (Rune’s third week in a row with almost day-by-day matches) – the speed of his 1st-2nd serves dropped from ~200-160 kph to 180-140 kph, and the 19-year-old Dane [18] took an advantage of it winning the semifinal convincingly. He broke at 1-all in the opener and jumped to a 4:0 lead in the 2nd set. “It was an unbelievable match from my side today,” said Rune. Auger had won 16 matches in a row prior to that encounter.

    Serve & volley: Rune 1/1, Auger 0/2
