  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 32-22, 28-34, 30-16 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    30 % Davydenko – 22 of 71
    26 % Robredo – 24 of 91

I’d say that among five most prestigious matches which Robredo [7] lost in his main-level career (he played 891 matches in total), two come from Paris when he was defeated in deciding sets by Davydenko [5]. First it happened in the French Open quarterfinal ’05 (the Russian prevailed 6-4 in the 5th), one year later at Paris-Bercy. Robredo trailed 1:3* and 4:5 in the 2nd set when he obtained three games in a row quite easily, but he paid the price for a laborious week – he’d defeated Grosjean & Nieminen being three points away from losing to them in straight sets, against Grosjean it was actually Robredo’s career biggest comeback because he trailed 3-6, 2:5 on return. The decider against Davydenko, Robredo began with a pain in his right calf, and the Russian, who had super easy route to the semifinal, took advantage of it mercilessly. That match was witnessed by fathers of both players, who didn’t travel a lot with their sons.

    Serve & volley: Davydenko 2/3, Robredo 0
