   Sicily. One of the worst ATP finals I’ve seen and super short with this scoreline (no ‘deuce’ by the way). Volandri [45] had a good technique off both wings, but his shots were soft, his serve actually meant only delivery the ball to the other side, thus often he was no match for players with powerful baseline game. That final it was one of those cases when he could do nothing facing the opponent’s impressive power. Berdych [55] raced to a 4:1 lead, and claimed his maiden title after one of many Volandri’s FH errors. The 19-year-old Berdych was fresh after reaching QF at the Olympics in Athens and 4R at the US Open, so he didn’t celebrate excessively, he knew he’d soon become one of the best players in the world. In the years 2004-05, a career Murray’s alike could be anticipated from him.
