  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 26-12, 29-18 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    34 % Sinner – 16 of 46
    20 % Ruud – 8 of 39

Sinner [1] was a heavy favorite, but it was difficult to expect he would defeat Ruud [7] so easily given that the Norwegian had eliminated (not directly) Alcaraz with a convincing 6-1, 7-5 victory. Already in the 2nd game of the opener Sinner showed something special manufacturing a double break point with a volley lob from an uncomfortable position. It set the tone for the rest of the match. In the 2nd set Ruud accelerated his forehand, led 2:1* (30/0) but from then, to the end of the match Sinner was ripping the ball all over the place leaving Ruud with a hopeless grimace on his face. Ruud, despite the lack of successes indoors in the regular seasons, enjoys the under-the-roof conditions in Turin – he’s appeared there thrice, having collected two semifinals (2021, 2024) and a final (2022).

    Serve & volley: Sinner 1/1, Ruud 0
