   Korda [5] belonged to Sampras’ toughest rivals. It was their third consecutive match when Sampras [2] needed three sets to leave the court as a victor. The crucial moment of the semifinal came as he led *3:2 (15/40) in the decider – he saved the double break point with ace and overhead. Generally it was a clinical service performance from Sampras, apart from the 2nd set when he lost his rhythm to be broken thrice.
