   The first final in Paire’s career (23 year-old then). He led *3:1 in the opening set to lose 8 straight games. There were six ‘deuces’ in the last game of the final, before Seppi converted his sixth match point after a volley-volley exchange. “My goal is to be back into the Top 30. My highest ranking is 27,” said Seppi. “At the beginning of the year, I said I wanted to try and get back there. I’m a little closer now. I’ll just try to do it match by match and see if I can manage it by the end of the year.”

   Seppi’s route to his 2nd title (playing 198th main-level event):
   2 Ivan Dodig 6-4, 6-2
   Q Gilles Muller 6-4, 6-3
   S David Nalbandian 2-6, 6-2, 7-5
   W Benoit Paire 6-3, 6-2

   # Seppi trailed *1:4 (30-all) in the 3rd set against Nalbandian, then held at ‘love’ serving at 4:5.
