   Surprisingly easy win for Stich [15] because he had a 1:3 H2H record against Forget [12], and lost their previous match on the same court (two years before in the third round). Stich’s aggressive second serve made the difference on that day. He got his breaks in 1st, 7th and 5th games of respective sets… Two weeks before they met in the Hopman Cup final (unofficial) and Stich won 6-3, 6-7, 7-6.
