   [5] Edberg’s overwhelming advantage over Mecir [9] despite a 1:3 H2H. The Swede, as a natural grass-court player, enjoyed a great service day and everything was too fast for the Czechoslovak. Even the rain interruption (more than an hour at 1-all in the 2nd set) couldn’t help him. Edberg’s only bad service game occurred as he led 2:1 with a break in the 3rd set; apart from that game, Mecir was unable to play ‘deuce’ as a receiver.
