  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 50-44, 36-23, 32-22 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    30 % Sinner – 27 of 89
    21 % Shelton – 25 of 118

[20] Shelton’s second major semifinal, and very similar to the one he played 1.5 years ago in New York where he lost to Djokovic. Almost the same scores of sets with one big difference: at the US Open, Shelton played his best tennis in the 3rd set, this time in the opener. Just like against Djokovic, he had a set point, this time actually two set points on serve, but couldn’t have closed it out, and after playing a poor tie-break he lost his self-belief. He tried to regain it in the 3rd set, but Sinner [1] is too tough form him. The Italian saved break points at 0:1 and 1:2, and took the last five games. “It was a very tough first set but very crucial,” Sinner said. “I felt he was not serving at his best today.” It’s a fifth consecutive match between them, Sinner wins in straights, but each time one tie-break is required (7/2, 7/4, 11/9, 7/1, 7/2).

    Serve & volley: Sinner 0, Shelton 2/4
Serve speed (1st and 2nd on average):
    Sinner 192 / 158 kph
    Shelton 186 / 167 kph
