   The 27-year-old, two-meter tall Eubanks [43], actually unknown prior to 2023, reached his second big quarterfinal this season (previously Miami). In the first three sets on court no. 2 he won distinctively fewer points (71-94), but he hung in there thanks to a 7/4 tie-break (in that set he saved break points at 1:2 and 3:4). In the 4th set he broke at 4-all. There was an exchange of breaks in the middle of decider (Eubanks began that set leading 2:0). Serving to win the biggest match of his life, Eubanks was tense (once missed an overhead by poor timing, then a forehand from a very good position), but saved two break points and finished the short five-setter (3 hours 4 minutes) with a forehand winner. Tsitsipas [5] had won two marathon five setters in his opening rounds against Grand Slam champions (Thiem, Murray), due to bad weather he did it playing four days in succession, and perhaps he run out of gas in the end facing Eubanks.
