   Baghdatis [16] couldn’t produce an unreturned serve in his first 24 points on serve, there was a quite shocking 1-6, *0:1 (0/40) score because he seemed like a player more naturally suited to grass than Nadal; he held from a triple BP down, and significantly improved from that moment. Nadal [2] – playing his first Wimbledon semifinal – had to give his all to get breaks at 6:5 in 2nd, and 2:1 in 3rd set (that break he obtained showcasing acrobatic athleticism at the net). The Cypriot should have won a point which would have guaranteed him breaking back (four break points in total at 2:4), but his shot, which caused Nadal’s error, was called ‘out’ – the Hawk-Eye system had had its debut at Miami 2006, but appeared at Wimbledon for the first time in 2007 thus complaints of Baghdatis couldn’t change anything. The Spaniard finished the contest with an overhead to emphasise his great performance at the net throughout the day.
