  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 34-23, 45-37, 26-16 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    33 % Draper – 12 of 89
    17 % De Minaur – 16 of 92

[10] De Minaur’s fourth quarterfinal, and for the first time he was a favorite to win the match at this stage: he was considerably higher ranked, he had a 3:0 H2H against Draper for whom it was a first major quarterfinal. But the Brit had shown in their previous matches he was able to out-serve and out-hit the Australian so his potential upset seemed like a matter of his consistency throughout the match – Draper [25] responded to this task well. In the opener he led 5:2* (40/0), then saved a break point at 5:3 with a complex rally. In the 2nd set Draper squandered a 4:2* (40/0) lead, but at 4:5 he held at love. So generally speaking De Minaur had his chances to steal a set twice, which would have been pivotal, but he failed on both occasions, and from 2:1* in the 3rd set he lost five straight games – Draper finished the contest with three outright winners. The next few months confirmed it wasn’t a fluke as Draper became a Top 10 player jumping De Minaur over.

Serve & volley: Draper 2/4, De Minaur 0
