   Louis Armstrong Stadium under the floodlight. It seemed like a quite good opportunity for De Minaur [13] to reach his first major semifinal. He’s been in the form of his life lately, had defeated Medvedev [3] in their two previous meetings, and has a positive record (3-1) against Rublev whom would have met in the quarterfinal. The Australian was continuing his flawless display from the two previous rounds when outplayed Wu & Jarry; he broke Medvedev twice in the opener, then the Russian took a toilet-break and came back on court with a different game-plan. Instead of exchanging gruelling rallies, he decided to accelerate his groundstrokes and it paid dividends. Although he wasted five break points leading 2:1 in the 2nd set, but at 5:4 he got a crucial break, and from that moment to the end his advantage was overwhelming – he was breaking De Minaur every time he created an opportunity, and collected 14 out of the last 17 games.
