  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 30-23, 49-43 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    40 % Forget – 28 of 69
    15 % Mansdorf – 12 of 76

Just like in the Toulouse final a year before, the same scores in both sets, but in reverse order. Forget [6] got the first break leading 3:2 thanks to magnificent cross-court backhand passing-shots. His offensive backhand remained his main weapon (beside his first serve) to the end of the contest which was quite complicated for him in the 2nd set because Mansdorf [56] led with a break twice. Forget played a perfect tie-break though, obtaining the majority of his points with winners (FH lob included to create a triple match point). It was Forget’s 12th win in a row – the longest streak of his career. One week later he would be stunned by Delaitre in the Lyon’s first round (6-1, 4-6, 3-6).

Forget’s route to his 8th title:
    1 Johan Carlsson 6-4, 6-4
    2 Thierry Champion 6-1, 3-6, 6-3
    Q Marc Rosset 3-6, 6-3, 6-3
    S Richard Krajicek 7-6(2), 3-6, 6-4
    W Amos Mansdorf 6-2, 7-6(4)

    Serve & volley: Forget 4/8, Mansdorf 2/5
