  1. Voo de Mar says:
Points won by each set: | 35-28, 35-30|
Points won directly behind the serve:
    38 % Becker – 23 of 59
    27 % Edberg – 27 of 69

A straightforward victory for Becker [2], who was usually defeating Edberg [3] quite easily, and that semifinal indicated the main difference between them: Becker was more powerful (better server and stronger forehand). The 23-year-old German broke early in both sets (1st and 3rd game respectively) and needed to save break points in each set. The 25-year-old Edberg begins to play tennis of his life after the Queens, wins four events in succession (including Wimbledon with a final revenge against Becker), and advances to the No. 1 in the world – Becker will have to wait for it to the Australian Open ’91. # Six years later, Becker and Edberg play another match on Centre Court at Queens Club.

    # Comparison of their two Queens matches:
    1990 (SF): Becker d. Edberg 6-4, 6-4… 1 hour 24 minutes… Total points: 70-58… Breaks: 2-0
    1996 (F): Becker d. Edberg 6-4, 7-6… 1 hour 32 minutes… Total points: 74-63… Breaks: 2-1
