  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 27-16, 30-24 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    30 % Nalbandian – 14 of 46
    25 % Gasquet – 13 of 51

Until *5:2 (15-all) in the 2nd set Nalbandian [21] had been playing immaculate tennis, then he made a drop-shot error, and the French crowd began to cheer for its compatriot enthusiastically. Gasquet [13] improved from 1:5 to 4:5* (30/0), but Nalbandian remained cool playing with a tremendous confidence having recently defeated Federer twice. The Argentine managed to win four straight points and advanced to the final where he beat Nadal easier than anyone could have expected – it was so tough to expect that he’d destroy Nadal for the second time within a few weeks. Nalbandian said before the final: “I think here is a little different than Madrid. It’s a little slow, and it’s maybe a little bit better for him”, comparing to their previous meetings a few weeks before when Nalbandian trashed Nadal 6-1, 6-2.

    Serve & volley: Nalbandian 0, Gasquet 1/1

☆ Nalbandian and Gasquet met seven times, the Argentine won all encounters, only once a deciding set was required, at Queens Club ’08
(6-4, 3-6, 7-6 – Nalbandian was serving first in the no break point decider which he won 7/3 in the tie-break).
