   Courier [1] was a higher ranked player than Sampras [3] in years 1991-92, nonetheless the one year younger Sampras found a winning formula in 5 of their 7 meetings at the time – that night session 2-hour 41-minute New York match marked the strangest scoreline in their 20 meetings (Sampras 16:4). The simplest explanation of the one-sided sets lies in games with break points – each of the Americans created BP chances in the same number of games (seven), but Sampras knew how to convert them much better. In the last three games he was struggling with stomach cramps, his body language looked terribly, he held twice with the help of four ‘deuces’ anyway.
