I knew Novak’s TB records have been going backward for a long while now though, I didn’t expect it’s this bad. Seriously below 0.5? :-/ Luckily his superb return game is saving him from being forced to play too many TBs. Or does the sparsity make him more nervous unnecessarily? Wonder if there was any other year-end No.1 who had a negative TB record before. Also only he and Mardy from the top8 have negative record in “s.p. sets”. :p
I’ve just prepared an all-time-tie-break-record stats. Djokovic is third (behind Federer and Ashe), so it’s a paradox that a great tie-break player like him, has a negative TB record in one of the best seasons in the history of tennis :]
Let’s see how long he can hold the 3rd spot. :p Sadly I can’t see the tide turning for his favor anytime soon, unless he regains the mysteriously missing nerve and his ’07-’08 serve, which doesn’t look good with the recurring shoulder problem.
