  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 31-15, 35-26, 26-11 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    10 % Nadal – 7 of 67
    11 % Federer – 9 of 77

Third straight final in Paris between these two and a total shocker in terms of the scoreline… [1] Federer’s worst defeat in ‘the best of five’ format. He had a break point at 3-all in the 2nd set to lose nine straight games. Nadal [2] became the first French Open champion without losing a set since Bjorn Borg in 1980. The Swede won twice this tournament not dropping a set (lost just 32 games in 1978 & 38 games in 1980; Nadal dropped 41 games in 2008). Federer couldn’t have complained on tiredness, he defeated six good players before, but only one match (semifinal) went through three hours. “I definitely think he’s improved,” Federer said. “He’s much better on defense, much better on offense. When you really cannot play your game and he can play exactly what he wants from the baseline, well, you end up with scores like this sometimes. It’s tough for the opponent, obviously.”

Nadal’s impressive route to his 27th title:
    1 Thomas Bellucci 7-5, 6-3, 6-1
    2 Nicolas Devilder 6-4, 6-0, 6-1
    3 Jarkko Nieminen 6-1, 6-3, 6-1
    4 Fernando Verdasco 6-1, 6-0, 6-2
    Q Nicolas Almagro 6-1, 6-1, 6-1
    S Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-2, 7-6(3)
    W Roger Federer 6-1, 6-3, 6-0
