  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 32-35, 35-29 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    50 % Del Potro – 28 of 55
    31 % Llodra – 21 of 66

A bold performance from DelPo [10] that gave him his first title indoors (tenth in total). The Argentine broke at 4-all in 1st and 2-all in 2nd set, allowing Llodra [50] to get ‘deuce’ only once in his ten service games. “When you win a title, it’s special. You really have to celebrate it,” said Del Potro. “I think I am getting closer to the best players in the world. I’m in the Top 10 now. I beat Berdych last week and Tsonga this week. If I keep working, staying at this level, step by step, I’ll get closer to the top players.” One week before Del Potro & Llodra had faced each other in the first round in Rotterdam, and DelPo survived in three sets (6-4 6-7 6-4) as well as their first round encounter in Marseille in the following year (3-6 7-6 7-5).

Del Potro’s route to the title:
    2 Nikolay Davydenko 6-7(6), 6-4 ret.
    Q Richard Gasquet 7-5, 7-6(5)
    S Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-4, 6-7(9), 6-3
    W Michael Llodra 6-4, 6-4
