Nishikori – one of the best players of the 10s, claimed his maiden title in the preceding decade. It was a time when people were talking about Donald Young, but the young American was losing his all ATP matches, meanwhile other teenager who found his way to ATP events – Nishikori – shocked the tennis world in Delray Beach, especially in the final when he faced the top-seed local favorite. Blake was completely outplayed for a set and a half. He saved three break points at 2:4, but couldn’t come back. The 18-year-old Japanese served out the title without any problems winning his third match of the week in the deciding set – it’ll be his domain in the decade to come. “Last night I couldn’t imagine. I tried to imagine winning the final, but I couldn’t do it,” said Nishikori, whose parents watched the match on an Internet feed. “I was so nervous in the first set.”
