51 % Forget – 53 of 103

Super fast match between the best servers of the early 90s and Ivanisevic [5] defeats Forget for the third time with the help of two tie-breaks, he does it for the second time in the “best of five” format. The Frenchman [1130], who came back from an injury not playing twelve months, won his first matches after the break at Wimbledon, and had his chances in the opening two sets against the Croat. He led 4:2* in the 1st set and squandered two set points at 6:5* in the 2nd set (apart from being broken in the opener, he held all other games at love). Ivanisevic took each breaker 7/3, and converted his second match point in the last game of the quarterfinal (he played tremendously well off the backhand side in that game).

    # Forget’s fifth and last major quarterfinal, at the time it was the worst record (Aussie Open 1991, 1993), Wimbledon 1991, 1992, 1994) – it’ll be overcome by Robredo
