  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 26-31, 34-37, 38-40, 45-41 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    39 % Stich – 62 of 158
    41 % Edberg – 55 of 134

The first four-set match in history, in which the loser didn’t drop his serve! Out of three lost TB-sets, Edberg was the closest to win the second one – two points away; he led 5:4* and earlier in the set 6:5 (30/0)… Prior to that semifinal, Edberg had won ten straight matches on grass not losing even a set (25-set winning streak not facing a set point)! # The second of Edberg’s three matches lost in four-setters with three dropped tie-breaks (in all those lost sets he never had a set point). Stich prevented fourth straight Wimbledon final between Edberg and Becker.

    # Comparison of Edberg’s three 1-3 defeats with three lost tie-breaks:
    Dallas 1986 (SF): Edberg – Becker 6-7(4), 6-7(7), 6-4, 6-7(2)… 3 hours 29 minutes…
    Wimbledon 1991 (SF): Edberg – Stich 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-7(5), 6-7(2)… 3 hours 8 minutes… Total points: 149-143… [3-2-5 points away]
    Aussie Open 1994 (SF): Edberg – T.Martin 6-3, 6-7(7), 6-7(7), 6-7(4)… 3 hours 51 minutes… Total points: 169-175… [2-2-4 points away]
