  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 36-36, 51-56, 26-35, 34-27, 30-17 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    42 % Becker – 62 of 146
    31 % Lendl – 64 of 202

Arguably Lendl’s best match at Wimbledon. He saved a double mini-set point at 5-all in the 2nd set and led *3:2 (40/30) in the 4th – Becker won 8 of 10 games since then. At *3:0 for Lendl in the 3rd set rain interrupted this semifinal for 1 hour 19 minutes.

Comparison of two consecutive five-setters between Becker and Lendl:
    Masters ’88 (F): Becker d. Lendl 5-7, 7-6, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6… 4 hours 43 minutes… Total points – 326… Breaks of serve – 10
    Wimbledon ’89 (SF): Becker d. Lendl 7-5, 6-7, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3… 4 hours 1 minute… Total points – 348… Breaks of serve – 9
