  1. Voo de Mar says:
    …Forget 1/3 (2) in break points…

    Points won by each set: | 36-33, 20-31, 32-27, 30-21 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    34 % Edberg – 39 of 113
    39 % Forget – 46 of 117

Very interesting match on Centre Court between two young players. The favourite [3] won it convincingly (he served 3 aces in the opening game!), but it was a tricky 1R match for him because they had met twice before sharing the wins (Edberg won their Queens Club semifinal a few weeks before) – Forget [31] was already known as one of the fastest serves on the tour, so very dangerous on grass. # Eight years later they play against each other on the same court as veterans – it’s the last Wimbledon for them both (Forget twelve months older).

    # Comparison of their two 4-set Wimbledon meetings in 1R:
    1988: Edberg d. Forget 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4… 2 hours 28 minutes… (Aces: 8-15, Double faults: 6-9)
    1996: Edberg d. Forget 7-6, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2… 2 hours 35 minutes… (Aces: 11-12, Double faults: 6-10)
