  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 26-15, 46-35, 29-24 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    35 % Federer – 28 of 79
    32 % Roddick – 31 of 96

Roddick led 3:1* in the 2nd set. He lost to Federer at Wimbledon Centre Court third year in a row (their second consecutive Wimbledon final). It was the most one-sided of their four meetings there (the fourth will take place in 2009). “I’m not going to sit here and beat myself up about getting to the final and doing better than 126 other guys and losing to a guy that everybody here is debating whether he’s the best of all time or not,” Roddick said in his post-final press conference. Federer, defeating Hewitt & Roddick in the last two matches without too much trouble, confirmed that he was far away ahead of them on all surfaces. Just half of the decade, and already no-one doubted Federer would be considered as the best player of the 00s. Ultimately it happened, but he didn’t win as many majors as could be expected then due to Nadal’s amazing ascendancy (at the time he had won just his maiden Slam).

Federer’s route to his 30th title:
    1 Paul-Henri Mathieu 6-4, 6-2, 6-4
    2 Ivo Minar 6-4, 6-4, 6-1
    3 Nicolas Kiefer 6-2, 6-7(5), 6-1, 7-5
    4 Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(6)
    Q Fernando Gonzalez 7-5, 6-2, 7-6(2)
    S Lleyton Hewitt 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(4)
    W Andy Roddick 6-2, 7-6(2), 6-4
