  1. Voo de Mar says:
The only Wimbledon final featuring two unseeded players!
    Total points: 108-74
Points won directly behind the serve:
    37 % Krajicek – 33 of 87
    22 % Washington – 21 of 95

Krajicek’s route to the title included beating former champion and defending champion:
    1 Javier Sanchez 6-4, 6-3, 6-4
    2 Derrick Rostagno 6-4, 6-3, 6-3
    3 Brett Steven 7-6(5), 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-2
    4 Michael Stich 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-4
    Q Pete Sampras 7-5, 7-6(3), 6-4
    S Jason Stoltenberg 7-5, 6-2, 6-1
    W MaliVai Washington 6-3, 6-4, 6-3

The Dutchman came to Wimbledon having lost at the All-England Club in the first rounds on two previous visits! Washington advanced to the final in unbelievable circumstances: he saved MP in the quarterfinal vs Radulescu, whom broke only once – in the last game of the match; then in the semifinal trailed 1:5* in the 5th set against a big-serving Todd Martin.
