   46 % Stich – 42 of 91
   31 % Novacek – 31 of 99

   Easier win than the scoreline would suggest. Stich [4] got early breaks in the first two sets, but wasn’t able to consolidate. In the 3rd set Novacek [56] changed his tactics, he was more aggressive, saved break points in two games, but Stich found his perfect service motion and the Czech couldn’t do anything as a receiver – he won just 4 out of Stich’s 28 service points before the tie-break in which Stich quickly built a 5:1 advantage to finish 7/4 with an ace down the T… A few months later they face each other in the third round of Australian Open ’95 and Novacek wins 7-5, 6-2, 6-4 after a 10-minute shorter encounter, night session on Centre Court.
