   In the 2nd set Dimitrov [8] led 6:4 in the tie-break with a comfortable position to play a forehand winner – hit the netcord and the ball went ‘out’, he lost 6/8. It was their second encounter in New York, the previous one Monfils [24] won 7-6(4), 6-3, 6-4 as well (first round 2011). Monfils’ second victory with “7” ahead in all three sets he won: previously at Wimbledon ’07 as he defeated Kristof Vliegen 7-5, 7-6(4), 7-6(1).
