   [3] Djokovic’s first advancement to a Grand Slam final. It wasn’t so obvious before, because his H2H against Ferrer [15] was just 2:2, and the Spaniard had defeated Nadal in the fourth round, so in that event he reached a new level on which he stayed for another 6-7 years. The first two sets had the same score, but the progress of them was completely different. In the opener only quick games, Ferrer led 4:1* before losing seven games in a row; in the 2nd set there were very hard-fought all games except the last one. The serve, and Djokovic’s more attacking attitude separated them. At the time it seemed like a career-opportunity for Ferrer, who would reach a major final tough, six years later in Paris.
