  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 33-27, 29-21 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    16 % Rublev – 9 of 56

“It’s amazing. I have no words to explain it, especially after this tough week,” said Rublev [74]. “Now I’m here and it’s amazing.” Rublev became the seventh ‘lucky loser’ to win a main-level title, the first one since Rajeev Ram in Newport 2009. The 19-year-old Russian had no problem against the Italian veteran (36 y.o. then). He had a game point at 4:1 in the 1st set, Lorenzi cut to 4:5* (30/0) when he lost a long punishing backhand-to-backhand rally. In the 2nd set, Rublev took the last five games. Lorenzi’s fourth and last ATP final (record: 1-3), it was the best season of his career.

    Serve & volley: Rublev 3/5, Lorenzi 1/1

Rublev’s route to his maiden title (24th main-level event):
    [ Jordi Samper 6-2, 6-4; Attila Balazs 3-6, 5-7 – lucky loser ]
    1 Carlos Berlocq 6-2, 6-4
    2 Andrej Martin 7-6(5), 7-5
    Q Fabio Fognini 6-7(5), 6-2, 7-6(2)
    S Ivan Dodig 7-6(4), 6-1
    W Paolo Lorenzi 6-4, 6-2

    # In the 3rd set against Fognini, Rublev was serving at 4:5 (30-all)
