  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 34-28, 22-27, 36-22 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    26 % Monfils – 20 of 75
    13 % Nieminen – 13 of 94

Two players holding the worst records in the ATP finals, among those born in the 80s. At the time Monfils was 3-11, and Nieminen 1-9 as they entered the final which lasted 1 hour 52 minutes. Monfils [10] escaped from 15/40 (with two winners) in the opening game of the last set, and broke the Finn to lead 3:1. “After Bangkok I haven’t practiced that much, mostly been in rehab for my knee,” Monfils said. “The key today was that I managed to keep up my concentration.” Nieminen [73] lost the Stockholm final for the third time (previously 2001 & 2006).

Monfils’ route to his 4th title:
    2 Bernard Tomic 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-4
    Q Kevin Anderson 7-5, 7-5
    S Milos Raonic 6-7(6), 6-4, 6-3
    W Jarkko Nieminen 7-5, 3-6, 6-2

Monfils saved a mini match point vs Tomic at 2:4 (30/40) in the 3rd set, and found himself in a similarly tough situation facing Raonic – trailed *2:4 (0/30) in the 2nd set
