  1. Voo de Mar says:
There was 5-all in the tie-break when Damm served to get his first set point – Siemerink committed a double fault then. Damm began the 2nd set with a 15-minute hold (7 deuces, saved three break points). It was their sixth and last meeting, surprisingly Damm won their all encounters, dropping just one set:
Points won directly behind the serve:
    43 % Damm – 36 of 83
    44 % Siemerink – 31 of 70
The doubles-specialist Damm, advanced to his fifth and last ATP singles final (lost them all) in which he was defeated by Pat Rafter. Here are all those finals:
1996 – Seoul (hard), Long Island (hard), Beijing (indoors)
    1997 – Copenhagen (indoors)
    1998 – Rosmalen (grass)
