# The first Open Era case that two players face each other four years in a row in the same Slam. Each of their previous Parisian matches had some drama involved, it didn’t happen in 1992 when they performed in front of rather empty crowd (began in the afternoon, chilly day: just 12-15 degrees). Courier [1] was in a form of his life at the time and overwhelmed Agassi [12] from the back of the court – something very unusual in Agassi’s career. It forced Agassi to attack the net more, but in vain because Courier’s passing-shots were perfect. The match was balanced until Courier led 4:3* (0/30) in the opener. Agassi couldn’t complain on tiredness, they both had advanced to the semis in almost identical style (Courier even spent a bit more time on average).
Serve & volley: Courier 0, Agassi 2/3
