The second off their four consecutive meetings at Roland Garros, the only one won by Agassi [5]. He was hitting his forehand tremendously well throughout the match (25-6 in FH winners, a year before it was reversal: 10-29), also his serve was impeccable and he went through the match being unbroken which was a rarity in his case in the first few years on the tour. In the 1st set Agassi wasted three set points in the tie-break (one on serve) which he lost 8/10; it was a reminiscence of their match a year before when Courier took the opener 9/7. In the crucial 3rd set, Courier [17] saved a set point at *3:5 and had a break point in the following game, only to witness Agassi’s service winner. The match lasted 2 hours 49 minutes, one hour shorter than their US Open ’92 quarterfinal with just three games more played.
