    Points won by each set: | 27-34, 28-18, 46-44, 38-41, 26-8 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    12 % Wilander – 21 of 162
    5 % Agassi – 8 of 148

“He’s a hell of a player,” Wilander said after an almost 4-hour duel,”He surprised me. I didn’t think he was this good. I’ve never played anybody who hits the ball like that. He’s going to be in the Top 10 for the next 5-10 years.” The Swede was right, Agassi was the Top 10 player even 8 years longer… Agassi saved break point at 0:3 in the 1st set and was two point away from defeat at *4:5 in the 4th set. The 18-year-old American had two break points in the opening game of the decider, then ran out of gas losing 23 out of 27 points! It was their second meeting, the first one Wilander won 6-1 6-1 in 1986. After the 1988 semifinal they didn’t face each other for six years, ultimately finishing their H2H with Agassi’s 5-2 advantage.

I think I have read somewhere, that this match took 3 hours and 50 minutes. There was also a short, I believe 15 minute, rain delay at the beginning of the second set.
