22 % Davydenko – 31 of 140

It’s really tough to comprehend how Davydenko didn’t even win a set! Admittedly there are examples when a player was closer to win all three sets he lost, yet Davydenko had great opportunities in each set:
1st set: had BP at 2:0, led 3:1* (30/0) & 4:2* (40/0) – Federer fought off the triple mini-set point with three powerful serves
2nd set: led 5:4 (30/15) on serve
3rd set: led 5:2* (30/0), had two set points serving at 5:3, but made two FH errors in that longest game of the match, and wasted his third set point at 7:6 in the tie-break (Federer’s service winner). Federer will win two more Grand Slam semifinals in similar style, so being at least two games to lose each set he won #
