Murray [2] and Cilic [12] were due on court at 11.30 am after the final was brought forward from its original start time of 13:00 pm in a bid to beat the predicted bad weather. Murray led 4:1* and wasted a double mini-set point at 4:3 (Cilic’s two winners – volley on baseline, FH on sideline) – at the second break point Murray slipped and pulled his groin a bit. In the 2nd set the Brit was leading all the time, he wasn’t closer to lose the match than eight points. In the decider he obtained the only break at 2:1 thanks to Cilic’s errors.
