  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 39-27, 41-34 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    41 % Forget – 25 of 60
    13 % Svensson – 11 of 81

Very balanced match apart from Svensson’s lapse of concentration between the sets when he lost 16 out of 18 points. The Swede [23] led 5:4* in the 1st and 4:3* (30/15) in the 2nd set. Forget [6] felt respect to his opponent and didn’t apply his standard serve-and-volley tactics indoors behind the 1st serve, because their two previous indoor matches Svensson had won; first when they both were very young on the same court (the first edition of Paris-Bercy ’86), then in Winter ’91 when Forget wasted a 2nd set match point in the Stuttgart semifinal… At 2-all in the Parisian opener Forget broke his racquet in two pieces after losing his serve.

    Serve & volley: Forget 2/5, Svensson 1/1
