   Pernfors backed up his sensational win over Courier, with upsetting another top player at the time – Korda (the Canadian Open ’91 runner-up). The Swede [95] jumped to a *3:0 (30-all) lead, but Korda improved to 6:5* (30-all). The Czechoslovak [11] lost the tie-break 4/7 netting an easy passing-shot. In the 2nd set the scenario almost repeated the opener: Pernfors 3:0*, then Korda 5:3. “I thought if I played really well I’d go two or three rounds and if I came up against a really good player, I’d lose,” said Pernfors.
