Masters – new pages

There are only seven weeks left to the end of the regular season. The best four players of the last four years have already secured their spots in the ATP season ending championships in London. Who will join them? I guess it might be Ferrer, Fish, Tsonga and Del Potro. We can assume that mathematical chances to get the last spots will have 5-6 players in the last week of the regular season (Paris). Obviously Robin Soderling (participated in the two previous editions) is an indoor specialist but he’s been struggling with mono for two months and won’t play in any tournament during the Asian tour, which lasts three weeks. He expects to be ready for his comeback in Stockholm in the middle of October, perhaps too late to qualify.

* In the picture John McEnroe on 15 January 1984 after winning ‘Masters ’83’ – he’s the most successful player in the history of the event counting both, singles (3 titles, 19-11 record) and doubles (7 titles, 14-0 record)

This week I have added two new pages, considering ‘Masters’ tournaments, I divided the ‘Masters’ issue into two parts because the history of doubles “Masters’ is a bit more complicated. Details here:
