  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: [ 30-29, 39-31 ]
    Points won directly on serve:
    21 % Forget – 16 of 73
    23 % Edberg – 13 of 56

The entire 1991 year was great for the 26-year-old Forget [5], but he was the hottest player on the tour in the first quarter of the year winning 25 of his first 28 matches (counting 3 Hopman Cup wins – prestigious event at the time) which moved him from no. 16 to the career-high no. 4. That victory over Edberg [1] was arguably the most valuable in that period because the Swede entered the match having won 17 of his last 18 matches on the American hard-courts being a huge favorite to defend his title. The sets were mirroring, Forget trailed *0:2 and got deciding breaks leading 5:4; in the 2nd set he avoided a double break down twice and finished the contest in amazing style, hitting four return winners (three backhands, one forehand). One month earlier they met in the Brussels semifinal, and Forget won it 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 after 1 hour 43 minutes. Edberg would lose to Forget their third straight meeting at the World Team Cup ’92.

    Serve & volley: Forget 6/8, Edberg 14/27
