   Sensational semifinal and a great opportunity to reach a first Masters 1K final for both 23-year-old clay-courters, who are at different stages of their careers: Ruud [8] already established as an elite player and Cerundolo [103] who didn’t even win a hardcourt match prior to this event. The Argentine was quite lucky because two seeded players (Opelka, Sinner) began matches against him being injured and retired early, nevertheless he defeated two players much higher ranked than himself (Monfils & Tiafoe). The Norwegian didn’t start well both sets: he lost his serve in the opening game of the match while in the 2nd set (he took a six-minute toilet time before it) he was forced to save break points in his first two service games. Since 2:1 it was a one-way traffic though.
