In the 2nd set of the final, Djokovic squandered a mini-match point at 4:2. In the tie-break he led 5:3* when quite long rally occurred, and he had a decent position to win the point with a backhand passing-shot, but netted, and… committed two double faults in a row afterwards (three in the entire tie-break)!! There was 2-all in the decider when he took four straight games without troubles. The 38th match between them (the Swiss leads 20-18), their second consecutive final at Indian Wells. “I thought overall it was a great match from my side, very solid, great intensity, great commitment to hit every ball,” Djokovic said. “I was very focused in the present moment.” Federer said: “Novak did well to sustain the lead for most of the match; I think he found an extra gear in the end. It was tough. You know, I enjoyed the match; it had a bit of everything. Controlled aggression was the key out there to try to play like that from the baseline.”
